Overview

Intended for a defined device workload and a deliberately managed servicing environment. Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB 2016 (version 1607) is the long-term servicing edition of Windows 10 Enterprise. It receives security updates but no feature updates, and it comes without the Microsoft Store, Cortana, Microsoft Edge and the built-in Store apps such as Mail, Calendar and Photos. Enterprise features include AppLocker, Credential Guard, Device Guard, BranchCache and DirectAccess. The long-term servicing approach separates this installation from the ordinary Home and Pro release pattern. Administrators can build a consistent application environment and plan compatibility checks around a particular release. Windows still supplies the desktop, file management and device controls, but deployment should be driven by the needs of the specialized equipment and the software running on it. The exact LTSB or LTSC release matters when selecting media, drivers and applications. An application supported on a current Windows release is not automatically supported on this older Enterprise baseline. Check the hardware requirements, release-specific servicing information and licence channel for the intended installation. Microsoft extended support for Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB 2016 ends on 13 October 2026.
