Overview
For searching an affected drive or card for photographs whose data may still be recoverable. Ashampoo Photo Recovery 3 finds and restores deleted photos on hard drives, USB sticks, smartphones and memory cards, including formatted or damaged media. It recognises JPG, PNG and RAW formats from Canon, Nikon and DNG, shows a preview of every image it finds and filters results by file type, size or resolution before saving them to another drive. Recovery begins with the storage that previously held the photographs. A scan looks for information that is still present, and the results must be examined before the recovered images are saved to another device. This can help after an accidental deletion or a memory-card problem when enough original data remains readable. The useful outcome is a photograph that opens correctly, not simply a filename appearing in the scan results. New writes to the affected storage can overwrite recoverable material, so stop using it before attempting recovery. A successful outcome cannot be guaranteed for overwritten data or physically damaged media. Store recovered files somewhere else and check them before treating the task as complete. For future protection, keep a separate backup rather than depending on recovery after each loss.

Lifetime means the license does not expire. It does not mean the publisher still updates or supports this version — that can end earlier.
