Overview
Useful for projects that move between written documents, calculations and presentations. Microsoft Office 2024 Home & Business contains Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote and, unlike Office Home, may be used for business. Office 2024 adds dynamic charts built from dynamic arrays, 14 new text and array functions and the IMAGE function in Excel, cameo, Recording Studio and closed captions in PowerPoint, session recovery in Word, better search and meeting options in Outlook, and OpenDocument 1.4 support. Use Word to develop written content and control its layout, Excel to organize data and calculate results, and PowerPoint to turn an outline into a sequence of visual slides. Files can be developed separately and then used together: a worksheet might supply the figures for a written proposal or a presentation. These are desktop authoring workflows, rather than a promise of bundled cloud storage or online collaboration services. Home & Business adds Outlook for managing email and calendar activity alongside the core document applications. The edition name matters when matching an existing Office installation; other Office editions may have a different application set.
