Organize ideas and plans into visual maps that show relationships and priorities. Mindjet MindManager 2017 is a Windows mind-mapping and planning program. Ideas become maps of topics and subtopics with notes, links, attachments, icons and tags, and the same data can be shown as outlines, concept maps, flowcharts, timelines and Gantt charts with task dates and resources. Maps export to Word, PowerPoint, PDF, HTML and images. The 2017 release added vertical and horizontal timelines and critical-path highlighting in the Gantt chart. Begin with a central topic and add branches for the main parts of the subject. Notes and relationships give context that a flat list can miss, making it easier to see how one idea depends on another. This is useful during brainstorming, meeting preparation or the early stages of a project plan. A visual map can then become a working reference rather than a one-time sketch. Reorganize topics as priorities change, attach supporting material and use the structure to explain the plan to someone who was not present when it was created. The map helps preserve both the outline and the connections between its parts. The desktop generation determines its file compatibility and available integrations. Current web collaboration, subscription services and later automation features are not part of the 2017 release. When exchanging maps, check the receiving application's version and keep linked files accessible alongside the project.
