VMware vRealize Log Insight

Search collected infrastructure logs and correlate events while investigating service or host problems. VMware vRealize Log Insight is a log-management and analytics platform for collecting and investigating infrastructure events. It brings log records into a searchable store so administrators can inspect individual events, identify recurring patterns and use dashboards to investigate operational problems. Connect supported log sources and configure their forwarding or collection so events arrive in one place. Administrators can then search across the collected records, filter around an incident and compare related messages instead of opening separate logs on every affected system. Consistent timestamps are important when reconstructing the sequence of a problem. Aggregation and dashboards help turn a large volume of events into a more manageable operational view. A recurring message pattern can point toward a configuration issue or a service that needs investigation, while the original events remain the evidence for understanding what occurred. The usefulness of the view depends on collecting the relevant sources. Log Insight is a log-analysis platform, not a general file-recovery or network-capture tool. Plan ingestion, storage and retention around the environment, and check the supported integrations for this release. Features introduced later under the Aria Operations for Logs name are not part of this edition.
