For managing audio peaks with attention to how limiting changes the musical result. Boz Digital Labs The Wall VST is a brickwall limiter with Smooth and Aggressive modes, threshold and ceiling sliders, a Flavor fader that adjusts many internal parameters at once, stereo link control, up to 8x oversampling against intersample peaks and a level-matched A/B comparison. Limiting controls peaks at the end of a processing chain or on a selected track. It can help manage the relationship between peak level and perceived loudness, but the result depends on the source and how hard the processor is driven. Listening to transients and dense sections is important: a setting that sounds acceptable in a quiet passage may become obvious when several elements reach the limiter together. More limiting can alter punch and introduce audible distortion. Compare at a sensible level and leave the output appropriate to the intended delivery. A compatible host is needed for the plug-in.
