Overview
Restrict removable-device use on a computer to help manage how data can be copied. GiliSoft USB Lock controls which devices can be used on a Windows PC: it blocks USB drives, SD cards, CD/DVD drives, phones and other portable devices, while a whitelist lets trusted devices through. Settings are password-protected. The focus is on whether a device can be used, rather than on converting every file on the drive into encrypted data. A practical setup starts by identifying which device access should remain available and which should be blocked. Test the policy with the intended hardware before applying it more broadly, because an overly broad restriction can interfere with legitimate work as well as unwanted copying. Keep a clear way to reverse the change and make sure the responsible administrator retains access. GiliSoft USB Lock runs on Windows; Mac support should not be assumed. This is a device-access control product, separate from GiliSoft USB Encryption, and the two names should not be treated as interchangeable licences or functions.
