VMware vSphere 8.0 Enterprise Plus is the Enterprise Plus host edition for teams managing a larger or more coordinated ESXi environment. It runs virtual machines on supported servers and works with compatible vCenter management for shared inventory, maintenance, and policy-driven operations. The edition is relevant when a collection of hosts needs consistent networking as well as the basic ability to run guest workloads. Enterprise Plus host licensing enables use of vSphere Distributed Switch. With a compatible vCenter deployment, administrators can define network configuration centrally for participating hosts instead of recreating each virtual switch and port group by hand. That reduces configuration drift during host changes and gives operators a common view of the VM networks they maintain. Distributed switching still requires appropriate physical uplinks, network design, and host connectivity. Check hardware and vCenter interoperability for the specific ESXi build before rollout. This host edition does not include vCenter, guest operating-system, vSAN or Kubernetes licences. Size the environment for the applications it will run.
