Edit and debug PHP-based web projects in an integrated development workspace. MPSOFTWARE phpDesigner 8 is a Windows PHP IDE with built-in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript editors. Code Insight completes PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript as you type, Xdebug steps through and profiles PHP code line by line, and it works with frameworks such as Zend, CodeIgniter, Yii and Symfony. Git integration, FTP/SFTP publishing, to-do and bug lists, code formatters and minifiers are included. A project combines several types of source: server-side PHP, page markup, styles and browser scripts. Keeping those files in one development environment helps navigate between related pieces while retaining direct control of the code. Code insight and syntax feedback make it easier to follow names and structure during editing. Debugging adds a different view from simply reading the source. With a compatible Xdebug setup, you can step through execution, inspect values and investigate why a request behaves unexpectedly. File-transfer tools support working with a remote deployment, but editing and publishing should remain deliberate steps in the development process. phpDesigner 8 is a legacy IDE and must be checked against the actual PHP, Xdebug and operating-system versions in the project. Its documented support for an older language generation is not proof of compatibility with every current framework. The product does not include hosting or guarantee that an edited application is secure or production-ready.
