GoldWave

Record, edit and process audio in a detailed waveform editor. GoldWave is a Windows audio editor for recording, editing, restoring and converting sound. It offers dozens of effects (echo, equaliser, pitch, reverb, noise reduction, fades and more) with preview, real-time visuals while playing and recording, a CD reader for importing tracks, and batch processing that converts or applies effects to many files at once. Open an existing sound file or record from the configured input, then work with selected portions of the waveform. Trimming unwanted sections, arranging material and adjusting audio are common preparation tasks for spoken recordings, music excerpts and other sound assets. The visual waveform helps connect the edit to the part of the recording being heard. Effects can alter the selected signal or help prepare it for a particular listening context. A controlled workflow keeps an original, applies processing to a working copy and compares the result before export. This is useful when cleaning up a recording or making several files more consistent. Choose the output format, sample rate and quality settings for the receiving application or device. Converting a compressed source does not restore information already lost, and heavy processing can introduce unwanted artifacts. GoldWave works with recorded audio; it should not be confused with a complete MIDI composition or multitrack video-production package.
